  Pastor's Pen - April 2008

Dear Church

I want to talk to you heart to heart. Pastors have noted with sadness the number of " fringe" Christians who cannot settle into a local church but move around from one place to another. They tend to follow speakers or events or treat Sunday Sermons like gourmet food - to be tasted, criticized, evaluated, compared - and then move on to the next "restaurant" where it is rumored the next spiritual food will be served!

This is true also in many people's destiny, drifting from job to job, company to company, from career to career and in the end never impacting anything or anyone with their lives or testimony. This is even more important because your life cannot be rewound and God's plan for you is never fulfilled - to your great loss and discontentment and to the Christian work in this world.

How can you know God's will in your life? How can you fulfill your God-designed destiny?

1. You need to seek God with all your heart.
Those who seek Him will surely find Him, even a non-Christian. God will reveal Himself to those who seek Him and show them the Truth. (Heb11:6). Likewise God will show you if you seek Him earnestly and expect an answer, what you are supposed to do on Earth. No one should live their life "accidentally"! So find out what God meant you to be and stick to it.

Joseph was shown in a dream what his destiny was. He would be a great leader. Moses knew he would lead Israel out to the Promised Land. David was told he would be the next king of Israel. And they had many testings, training, adversities and sufferings to refine them before they finally fulfilled the destiny for their lives.

God will show you your final purpose in life but He will not show you all the steps to get there. He will reveal to you one step at a time. That is when we need to be 100% sure of God's calling and not be shaken even when the steps appear to go a different direction. Whether God called you to be a teacher, a doctor, a pastor, an evangelist, a janitor, a businessman and so forth you need to know the will of God in your life and walk in obedience to it.

2. You need to be planted and established in a local church.
Many do not find the will of God in their lives because they are "floaters". It is said that rolling stones do not gather any moss. Rolling Christians cannot flourish in the courts of the Lord because they are not planted in the House of the Lord. Ps 92:13 ?Those who are planted in the House of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of the Lord."

It is not just on this earth but also when you face the Judgment Seat of God at the end of your earthly life, that you have to account for why you did not fulfill your destiny, your work set out for you, your stewardship of your life and your resources (or the lack of it!). How can you build God's church if you are physically not present long enough in a church to do your part? 1Cor 12:27-28 ",you are the Body of Christ and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: "." And Paul lists the jobs each has to do. The local church is crippled if we are not functioning in our assigned body part ".just as our body will suffer if one of our organs is not functioning.

In Acts 2:42-47 we read that the believers worshipped together, shared everything, praising God. The result? God multiplied them. Not add to them, but MULTIPLIED their numbers. They did not VOLUNTEER, they SERVED God. The church has no need of volunteers. God wants those who serve Him with joy and purpose, knowing the will of God and the destiny for their lives. God saved me in a Brethren Assembly and there I stayed for over twenty years, serving and growing. Then the Holy Spirit baptism caused us to be moved to a new wave of the Lord. There I stayed for over twenty five years in the work the Lord has commissioned me. Through it all, the success, the pain, the encouragement, the suffering, the joy and the tears; whatever came my way, there was the assurance that God and not man has called me to do a certain task for Him. We move to another level and another ministry only when God speaks and directs us.

The seven deacons in Acts appointed to serve the widows were not volunteers. They were chosen by God and appointed with hands laid on them! It was as important as the appointment of pastors

Christians planted in a local church, serving God (not volunteering), taking their places in the local body and reaching out to the unsaved, can experience the multiplied growth of the church.

One writer gave this statistic: One pastor who wins 10,000 people to the Lord every month will take 60,000 years to reach the world population, provided the population remains static!! However if you win two persons to the Lord and they get planted firmly in the local church and these two get two more saved and planted in their local church every month and so forth". It takes only 33 months to reach the whole earth's population!!
That is why in Acts 19:10 we read that they reached ALL the population of Asia in two years.

What does it take to transform our community, our city and our nation?
A healthy body of believers (planted firmly in the local church and SERVING (hospitality, care groups, ushering, working the parking lot, children ministry, greeting, youth, and lots more). They are also reaching the unsaved in their families, in the office, in the market place. Not just getting them saved but planting them in the SAME local church where you are so that you can establish them!

Many in our church tell me they have brought this person and that person to the Lord but it is not often that I see them in our church. God decreed that we should enjoy the fruit of our labor. If you labor to bring one to the Lord but your local family never enjoy the fruit of this labor, all the time and energy spend in feeding and caring for you have not resulted in productivity. It would be really strange if your sons and daughters gave away all your grandchildren that they give birth to. They happily tell you, "Dad, Mom I just gave birth to twins!"
You answer excitedly, "Wonderful. Where are they? We must see them grow healthily."
And the answer you get is, "Oh, don't worry. I gave them away to another family to look after. It is a rich family, richer than us so they will be better off than if you were their grandparents."

The key is being planted in the local church. It is there you flourish and fulfill the destiny of the Lord for you. When you stand before the Judgment
Seat of Christ, your "works" will stand the test of fire and not be reduced to ashes. I see many in our church quietly serving the Lord and faithfully

coming to support the prayer meeting, the training, the events. They may not achieve worldly fame or the praise of man, but they are certainly note worthy in Heaven, where it counts most!

Who will not fulfill their destiny?
1. Those whom God gave great gifts for mankind but never got saved and used their gifting for themselves.
2. Those who are saved but attend church irregularly and so never got
planted to grow into productive trees
3. Those who transfer from church to church. They cannot put down roots.
4. Those who pick and choose what they want to hear, shopping for the
"best" speaker. They become fat on an unbalanced diet. Spiritual obesity
has immobilized them!

So Christians of RLS, be established in this local House of God, find where you are to serve Him and just do it! Only Jesus is the perfect Pastor, only Heaven is the perfect church! Each local house has a special calling and a special function. Local churches cannot be All things to All men, only Jesus is all things to all men. If you find you want to serve in a special ministry and there is none, then initiate one because it may well be that the reason God called you to this house is to meet a need.

Pay heed to what is written here. It may determine how your works will stand on the day you are called to give an account of yourself before the Judgment Seat of Christ.

Serving together in the House of the Lord,

Ps Khim

WHAT THE LORD SAID TO RLS IN MARCH 2008
Every now and then, we sum up what God says to the Intercessors individually or as a prayer group. We pass on these messages to you. All prophetic word must be judged and what is of God must be taken seriously. Do not let familiarity cause you to despise God?s Word. We are greatly blessed that God speaks to us.
Many things the Lord said to us at the Watch Night service on 31st December 2007 have come to past. Others are yet to happen. Some things may be for

the future. But in all things, we give reverence to God and keep what is
revealed for our encouragement.

1. The River of God is flowing fast in this nation. Many dead bones are washed away and their symbol has become lob-sided.
2. Though much witchcraft is used even in political circles, the prayer of the saints will nullify them and seats of power and influence will fall.
3. The throne that the man of power sits on surrounded and protected by a circle of influential people will see itself slowly falling when that circle of protection is swept away one by one by the Lord.
4. Do not just pray till the spiritual enemy is out of sight but pray till the enemy is driven out of the land.
5. Trust God for it is God who reigns. The floodgates are open.
6. Two trees. One is plucked up by the roots and will slowly die. It is corruption and racism. The second tree, which is religion, will be the next. When this tree is being uprooted, it is then you will see the shaking and unrest that have been spoken of for the past years. Be not afraid for the Lord is with you and it is He who will protect His children.
7. God is pouring a full jar of anointing oil on this church. Tell all the people to get involved in ministry for those who serve God are going to be specially blessed.
8. God is sending fire to burn up the useless trees. He is cleaning up this garden and then Jesus will plant His trees into neat rows and He will be the Gardener. He will take care of everyone that He has planted in the church.
9. Tell them to get into the River of Life and be washed. A huge dove covers the church with His wings.
