Manna Communities Services Ministry is the social concern outreach ministry of RLS. Through practical assistance to those in need, MANNA aims to visibly demonstrate Christian love to the local community as well as to provide an opportunity for members of RLS to become involved in impacting society through Christian service.

                    OUR VISION

To provide spiritual hope and practical assistance to those in need as a visible expression of the love and compassion of God in a fallen and broken world.
To impact the society around us through our Christian service and be a channel for God's transformation of our community.
To provide a means for RLS members to become involved in Christian social outreach and to grow in their Christian walk.
The focus of MANNA is on the local community close to RLS and in the Klang Valley generally, but also elsewhere in Malaysia as the needs arise.

The core focus is on specific projects that are selected with a view to longer term sustainability whereby impacted individuals are transformed into self-supporting and productive members of society. Core projects include financial assistance and personal follow-up support.  Assistance is also provided for emergency requests.

Reaching the poor and needy is a direct command of God to Christians. Deut 15:11 says, " I command you to be open-handed toward the poor and needy." It is not an option for us.
For this purpose, the Manna Ministry is set up to provide physical assistance and spiritual hope to the poor and needy as a visible expression of God's love and compassion in a fallen and broken world.
Helping the poor and needy goes beyond dropping an occasional dollar for the street beggar to salve our conscience. Giving the poor a packet of rice will not go very far either.
What is required is a wholistic commitment not only to help them out of their current difficulty but also to be self-reliant in being "able to fish for themselves".

To do this, we need financial resources and volunteers.

Income for MANNA comes from individual sponsors, from the corporate sector, and a proportion of the RLS tithe. We also have fund raising events such as the Manna Charity Bazaar. This annual bazaar provides good quality second hand items donated by RLS members for sale at low prices to those less financially able, thereby helping the local community as well as generating income to support MANNA projects. Particular care is taken to ensure that the financial assistance provided through MANNA is accounted for and that aid-dependency on the part of the recipient is avoided. How you can help/serve communities  - in touching lives and changing nations. United together in serving

We welcome volunteers who are committed to partner with us in hands-on community services and also to donate through financial support or contributions-in-kind.

Manna emphasizes the importance of skill building amongst needy communities - educating individuals in a skill that will build confidence in themselves so that they are able to earn an income and fend for themselves.

Who are the volunteers?

A Community of dedicated persons desiring to serve needy Communities.
- Health Care Providers
e.g doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists.

- Suppliers of food or vitamins
e.g. rice, meat, beverages, sugar, cooking oil, multi-vitamins

- Small Business Skill Builders
e.g. people who can teach entrepreneur skills to develop small businesses like selling siew pow, hot steam boat stalls (luk-luk)

- Any one who has a heart to help

We are looking for... people or groups of people who have the compassion to help.
We encourage home groups who have the same vision to partner with us in our endeavour to build lives.  (Back to top)
