Prayer

Why Attend Prayer Meeting?

Do you know that there is power when you pray in a group?

Let us look at Matthew 18:20-20 (NKJV):- Jesus said, ”Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

If you look at the Lord’s Prayer, you’ll see that it reflects praying together:

Our Father… give us… our daily bread… forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors… lead us not into temptation… deliver us… (Matthew 6:9-13 NIV, italic mine).

Many people miss out on so much because they only pray by themselves. Yet when Jesus gave us an outline for prayer, he spoke about praying together. There is power in group prayer!!

If you are not praying with other believers, then you are not getting the support you need. You are missing out on one of the major benefits of being a Christian. Jesus says, “Whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it will be done in My name, I am there with them.”

That is the power of praying with other people in a prayer meeting.
